Jefferson County Barely Misses Top 10 Rural Living List

Last updated on Monday, February 18, 2008

(MADISON) - Jefferson County barely missed the cut to appear in a top 10 list of the “Best Places To Live In Rural America.”

The county ranked 11th in the rankings published by Progressive Farmer Magazine.

Rankings are based on rural quality-of-life indicators such as great schools, access to health care, low crime and affordable farmland.

The number one county on the list this year was Kent County, Maryland.
