Flu Strikes Area School, Forces Shutdown

Last updated on Tuesday, February 12, 2008

(UNDATED) - Peak flu season, it’s not officially here yet, but one area school is already feeling its symptoms.

State Health Department Epidemiologist Shawn Richards says peak flu season is about six weeks away. However, sneezing, sniffling and fevers are going around.

At least one area school closed Tuesday because so many teachers and students were out with the flu.
