Last updated on Tuesday, February 12, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The distraught family of an 8-year old girl murdered in Indianapolis Friday night lashed out in court this morning and were led out in handcuffs.

Christopher Hutchings jumped the railing and lunged at 26-year-old Emmanuel McClendon, who is accused of killing Hutchings' daughter Karissa. Hutchings screamed profanities at McClendon as court officers ordered him to calm down, but he refused and was eventually tackled and led out of the courtroom.

His wife was also led out of the courtroom in handcuffs as she screamed at McClendon's family in the courtroom. A member of McClendon's family was also escorted out. All three were briefly in custody, but were released.

McClendon is set to be formally charged with murder Wednesday afternoon. Karissa died friday night after she was hit by bullets fired from the street into her family's home. Police say she had been watching TV on the couch.

Police say McClendon lived in the neighborhood and allegedly had an ongoing feud with the Hutchings family.
