Police Commission Member Fired, Calls Decision "Political Retaliation"

Last updated on Saturday, January 5, 2008

(PLAINFIELD) - A Plainfield member of the board of police commissioners was fired Friday.

69-year-old Ed Daum was let go over what he calls political retaliation. Daum claims members of the board were upset because of his opposition to three town council members in last year's Republican primary.

He also says members had accused him of spreading rumors about confidential personnel issues.

Daum had been a member of the commission since 1989.
