(PLYMOUTH) - Plymouth officials recently got word of a $200,000 dollars grant from FEMA for flood repair damage.

FEMA would purchase properties along the Yellow River that were damaged by high waters.

Tippecanoe County received a similar grant in 2007 for flood-damaged homes along the Wabash following the July 2003 flooding.

If counties hit by the flood waters over the last couple of weeks want federal assistance, they need to ask for it. So far, nothing is in the works.

Emergency management officials in Jasper and Carroll counties say it's too early to ask for FEMA's assistance. Governor Daniels vowed to ask for federal disaster aid several weeks ago.
