Judge Upholds Woman's 60 Year Sentence

Last updated on Thursday, January 10, 2008

(MADISON) - A judge has denied a motion to overturn the guilty plea of a woman who is serving a 60-year sentence for the 1992 torture-murder of a 12-year-old girl.

Melinda Loveless contended that she received ineffective counsel and signed a plea deal under duress, believing she might face execution.

Her attorney says the ruling will be appealed.
