Last updated on Monday, January 7, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indianapolis Metro Police officer has been charged with aiding in murder in the New Year’s Day shooting of a bouncer at a city bar.

Shannon McComas resigned this morning after Police Chief Michael Spears told him he'd seek his firing.

McComas is accused of handing a gun to another security guard after a disturbance broke out at Durty Nelly's Eatery and Pub. Minutes later, Sunungura Rusunungura opened fire and killed fellow bouncer Ronnie Croom.
