(INDIANAPOLIS) - Local and state officials, along with representatives of CSX Railroad, held a town hall meeting Friday night to respond to concerns of residents who live in the area of last weekend’s train derailment on the west side of Indianapolis.
Officials say they're busy cleaning up the spills, which include soybean oil, corn syrup, liquid fertilizer, lube oil and locomotive diesel fuel.
Pam Thevenow with the Marion County Health Department says they've been gathering water samples. "We don't think city water should be affected," said Thevenow, "so we're mostly concentrating on the well water users." Thevenow says it'll take about two weeks to get the results.
