Church Group Sending Assistance To Flood Victims

Last updated on Tuesday, January 15, 2008

(UNDATED) - The United Methodist Church isn’t waiting for the federal government to help North Central Indiana flood victims rebuild their lives.

The United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR) is sending ten thousand dollars in emergency funding to the hardest hit areas.

Indiana Area Of The United Methodist Church Spokesman Dr. Daniel Gangler says churches in Delphi and Monticello will pass the relief money along to their congregation members.

More than 350 homes were damaged by water last week during a flood that also killed one man and two small children.
