Woman Taken Off Of Life Support Following Fire

Last updated on Sunday, December 30, 2007

(NOBLESVILLE) - The family of Ashley Lawhorn of Noblesville struggled with the decision but finally removed the 23-year-old from life support 13 days after she was burned in a van fire.

She died early Friday morning at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis, becoming the third fatal victim in a fire that took place near Elwood almost two weeks earlier. Two victims died at the scene and two others were hospitalized.

Police believe the fire in the van was accidental and said spilled fuel may have been the cause.
