Woman Sues Hotel After Hostage Situation

Last updated on Friday, December 7, 2007

(GOSHEN) - A woman is suing the Elkhart motel where her ex-boyfriend held her and her four children hostage.

She says motel employees knew or should have known a crime was being committed there.

The lawsuit by Kimberly Walker is pending in Elkhart Superior Court. It alleges that staff at the Sleepy Hollow Motel told police that Jerry White wasn't there even though he was holding her and their children in one of the rooms.

The motel says the Chicago man had stayed there before but had registered this time under an alias.
