Woman Falls, Struck And Killed By Bus

(HAMMOND) - An 82-year-old woman was struck and killed by a Hammond city bus after she fell in front of the vehicle.

Hammond resident Marie Slacian had just exited the bus near a Wal-Mart Wednesday when she apparently slipped in front of the bus.

Slacian was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma.

Investigators plan to send information to the Lake County prosecutor's office for a decision on possible charges against the bus driver.
