(INDIANAPOLIS) - The state has begun taking applications for its new health-insurance program.
The program to provide coverage to up to 130-thousand uninsured Hoosiers begins next month. It's paid for through cigarette-tax money.
The program is designed to cover Hoosiers with income up to double the federal poverty level -- for a family of four, the threshold is just over 41-thousand dollars a year.
Eligible Hoosiers receive free preventive care, and an 11-hundred-dollar medical savings account funded through a combination of co-pays and state money.
