Names Released In Deadly Auto Accident

Last updated on Wednesday, December 26, 2007

(GREENFIELD) - A thoroughbred horse trainer with more than 9,400 victories was among three people killed in a Sunday accident on Interstate 70 in Hancock County.

72-year old Dale Baird of West Virginia died after he lost control of his pickup truck while hauling a livestock trailer. His truck crossed the highway's median and was broadsided by a car. Two teenagers in that car also died in the crash.

Nineteen-year-old James Pardo of Centerville and 18-year-old Jared Graham of Hagerstown were returning from Sunday's Colts game when the accident happened. Police say strong winds and a slick road contributed to the crash.

Baird had trained horses in West Virginia since the 1960s. He was driving to Illinois to spend Christmas with his mother and family.
