(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indianapolis woman faces 24 years in prison for punishing her 7-year-old by putting him in scalding-hot water.
Police says 61-year-old Bessie Saffold did this to her adoptive son, because he wet the bed. The boy suffered second and third degree burns.
Saffold's husband, Mechelle, was sentenced earlier this year, for not seeking medical attention for the boy. The 7-year-old did survive his injuries.
Bessie Saffold pleaded guilty to neglect. She faces a judge December 28th.
