Man Charged In Murder Of Eli Lilly Sales Rep

Last updated on Sunday, December 9, 2007

(CHICAGO) - A Chicago man with a long criminal history has been charged with the murder of an Eli Lilly sales rep whose car was found abandoned in Hammond three months ago.

Reginald Potts had dated 28-year-old Nailah Franklin. Franklin had reported a threatening phone call from Potts before her murder.

Chicago police say cell phone records disprove Potts' claim he was elsewhere when Franklin was killed.

Potts is already in jail on charges of violating a protective order obtained by another ex-girlfriend, and getting in a fistfight with two Cook County sheriff's deputies.
