(UNDATED) - Indiana has a new standardized system to report conditions across the state during severe weather and other hazardous situations.
Those situations could include tornadoes and snow storms, fires, floods, major accidents, and even acts of terrorism.
The system includes one statewide map that can easily be read, interpreted, and posted on the internet. It also allows for quick emergency declarations on the state or local level, which can mean a quicker response for people who need help.
Before this year -- each of Indiana's 92 counties reported conditions differently.
