(ROSELAND) - The Roseland town marshal says he's tired of working for months at reduced pay and wants to be laid off.

Marshal Jack Tiller says he can't support his family on the reduced salary.

Tiller and the Northern Indiana town's three other paid police officers had their pay cut to just six-dollars an hour in August. Tiller says he didn't think the cut would last this long.

Town Council President Charley Shields says he'll appoint a new marshal soon.

The town's financial pressures began when it failed to receive tax funds and was unable to obtain a loan. The town has since received some donations.
