This Week Is Winter Weather Prepardness Week

Last updated on Monday, November 12, 2007

(UNDATED) - This is Winter Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana, and the state is taking part in a new federal campaign called “Ice And Snow…Take It Slow.”

INDOT spokeswoman Megan Tsai says it's a good time for Hoosiers to brush up on their winter driving strategies. Remember to slow down, give snow plows plenty of room, and allow plenty of extra time to reach your destination.

Other tips include knowledge of the driving conditions, clearing snow and ice from your entire vehicle, and make sure your wipers, lights, and tires are in good shape.

Winter doesn't arrive for more than five weeks, but INDOT says now is not too soon to start getting yourself mentally prepared and your vehicle physically prepared.
