Rokita Sends Out Officers To Monitor Elections

Last updated on Tuesday, November 6, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita announced he will dispatch election oversight teams statewide today for municipal elections.

Secretary Rokita, who serves as Indiana's Chief Election Officer, said he and his deputies will be spending the day monitoring municipal elections to make sure they are conducted in a proper manner.

They will be making sure all polling places are accessible to voters, and making sure each and every vote is counted as it should be.

However, some Bedford voters may be on edge with this announcement, as Secretary Rokita endorsed Bedford Republican mayoral candidate Jean Williams while at a Kiwanis event, although it should be noted, the Bedford Kiwanis Club neither endorsed nor supported the endorsement of any candidate.

If Bedfordites have questions about their registration or where they should go to vote today, visit www.indianavoters.com or call (866) IN-1-Vote.
