Mother's Conviction Upheld By State Supreme Court

Last updated on Thursday, November 15, 2007

(VERNON) - The Indiana Supreme Court has upheld a Jennings County woman’s conviction on charges related to her son’s death two years ago.

The high court refused to hear Donna Moore's appeal after she was found guilty on charges of neglect of a dependent resulting in death, and battery resulting in bodily injury in connection with the death of her 5 year old son Samuel.

She will still serve her 53-year prison sentence, but 6 months was taken off after Moore's conviction for false informing was overturned.

Moore's boyfriend, Aaron Rohr, will be retried in March for murder in Samuel's death after his conviction was overturned on appeal.

A jury from outside Jennings County will hear the case.
