Cunegin Stepping Down As Criminal Justice Executive Director

(UNDATED) - Indiana Criminal Justice Institute Executive Director Michael Cunegin is stepping down from the post this month to become Deputy Commissioner of Administration at the Indiana Department of Correction. He will assume his new role on November 26th.

Prior to being appointed to lead the ICJI by Governor Mitch Daniels in June 2006, Cunnegin served as a career law enforcement officer on the Fort Wayne Police Department.

He joined the Ft. Wayne police department in 1980, after graduating from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and worked his way through the ranks before ultimately being promoted to sergeant in 1993.
