(CHARLESTOWN) - Indiana conservation officers stopped a Charlestown man from stealing copper at Charlestown State Park.
Conservation officers say 36-year-old William Colwell was arrested after police set up surveillance equipment where previous copper thefts had occurred.
Officers set up the equipment near a batch of copper stripping tools that were left behind by previous thieves, and caught a return visitor.
Copper thefts in Southern Indiana have been going up about as fast as the price of the utilitarian metal itself.
