Blood Donors Helping To Save Little Girl's Life

Last updated on Thursday, November 22, 2007

(EVANSVILLE) - The season of giving is off to a great start in Evansville.

The Indiana Blood Center and the local junior league are holding blood drives to support four-year-old Taylor Holweger, who was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia earlier this year.

The little girl has spent several months at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.

The blood center's Courtney Adkins says due to the number of transfusions that Taylor has received in the past months... this means blood donors are helping to save her life.

In addition to collecting blood donations, the Indiana Blood Center will donate five dollars to the Tri-State Food Bank for every person that shows up to donate.
