State Police Investigation Nets 1 For Child Solicitation

(DERBY) - Indiana state police concluded a long investigation into accusations of child solicitation yesterday with the arrest of a Perry County man.

State police says they arrested 57-year-old William G. Russell in Derby for soliciting an underage girl over the internet.

The state police investigation, which was aided by the Hamilton County Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, allege Russell solicited the girl to have sex, and performed sexual acts over the internet for the girl.

Russell faces a number of charges, including 2 felony counts of child solicitation, and 4 felony counts of providing obscene matter and performances before minors. Russell faces up to 28 years behind bars and $60,000 in fines.
