(SHELBYVILLE) - Hundreds of people turned out to say good-bye to a fallen Shelbyville police officer.
Sergeant Gary Henderson was laid to rest Monday morning. Henderson was killed last week near I-74 and State Road 44. Henderson was assisting Shelby County sheriff's deputies with a stolen car case when the wheels came off a semi-trailer and hit him.
Henderson was remembered fondly by fellow officers, family members, and the community. Henderson's son Kyle addressed the crowd and said the 29-year police veteran taught him how to be a man.
