No New Body Bags For Portage Coroner

Last updated on Monday, September 3, 2007

(PORTAGE) - The Porter County council is saying no to new body bags for the coroner’s office.

Porter County Coroner Victoria Deppe says she has made a plea for budget increases, including some replacement body bags. Deppe says the bags they use now are "flimsy" and can tear easily.

Council members had agreed to keep the budget flat for next year, in an effort to save money.
