Last updated on Wednesday, September 5, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The countdown to the kickoff of the 2007 NFL regular season is on.

To celebrate the Colts' season opener against the New Orleans Saints, the mayor's office has declared that day "Blue Thursday."

Deputy Mayor Steve Campbell says it's time for the city to show its pride in the team. He says "Blue Thursday is Indianapolis' chance to have all its residents get involved with the Colts' season opener. He also says it's also a time where the city is going to shine for the entire national spotlight.

Area residents are also being encouraged to fly Colts flags and banners outside their homes and businesses.

The celebration for the regular season opener includes a free concert Thursday evening on monument circle, featuring Faith Hill, Hinder and Kelly Clarkson.
