Dubois Emergency Responders More Prepared Since 9/11

(JASPER) - Ever since it’s inception, the Department of Homeland Security has been in a race with time to improve the nation’s security and improve it’s ability to respond.

The most often asked question of the department is "whether or not we are safe.

9-11 committee co-chairman, and former Indiana congressman Lee Hamilton would answer, we are safer... but we are not safe.

Dubois County EMA Director Mary Miller says emergency responders within Dubois County are now better prepared.

Courthouse security has been enhanced--making it safer for employees .

The Dubois County EMA secured a grant to purchase laptop computers for each emergency agency which provides law enforcement and others an opportunity to preview an emergency site while still enroute to the location.
