Toy Recall Prompts Health Officials To Expand Lead Testing

Last updated on Monday, August 13, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The recent national recall of more than 960,000 Fisher Price toys has prompted the Marion County Health Department to expand its free childhood blood lead testing.

Health department staff will be in Nora and in two Johnson County communities this week, offering the simple finger stick test to anyone who wants it.

Health officials are most concerned with children seven years old and younger and women who are pregnant.

Those concerned that their child may have come in contact with one of the recalled toys are invited to go to one of the upcoming lead testing clinics.
