Last updated on Saturday, August 4, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS) - IUPUI police have arrested two men on charges of theft of metal and trespassing.

Captain Bill Abston says a officer spotted a pickup truck loaded with aluminum hightailing it away from a campus construction site and losing part of its load. A quick check confirmed Brian Houghs and Floyd Neace the driver and passenger did not have permission to remove the aluminum, and had been told to leave the site on a separate occasion.

Abston says it's the fifth metal theft incident on campus this year. All campus staff and construction workers have been advised to report anything suspicious

Abston says it is uncertain whether this theft is related to the copper piping theft at Gleaners Food Bank.
