(MADISON) - Indiana Conservation Officers responded to a fatal ATV accident in Jefferson County Thursday evening. The accident occurred near Madison.
Killed was 23-year-old Justin Geyman, of Hanover. Geyman was riding an ATV, which left the roadway and struck a tree, after rounding sharp curve in the road.
Justin Geyman was riding with a group of friends when they discovered he had been involved in the accident. They called 911 at the Jefferson County Sheriff Department. Deputies then called Indiana Conservation Officers, Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies, ISP and EMT Units from Kings Daughters Hospital.
Justin Geyman was not wearing a helmet and received severe chest injuries as a result of the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Jefferson County Coroner Alice Carlson-Jackson.
The accident is still under investigation by Indiana Conservation Officers.
