Park Rider Knew Something Was Wrong

Last updated on Monday, June 25, 2007

(UPLAND) - An Upland teenager happened to be on the same amusement park ride that severed the feet off of a 13-year-old girl in Louisville.

The teenage girl's feet were sliced off during a Kentucky Kingdom ride called the "Superman Tower of Power."

Gabe Harmon says he and a friend had ridden the ride 10 times that day, so when they heard a strange clank during their 11th time, they knew something was wrong.

Harmon says he heard several passengers screaming that they wanted to get off of the ride and that the ride's operator was quote "freaking out."

Harmon says he and the other riders weren't allowed off until rescuers had taken care of the injured girl.

No word on the girl's condition. The ride has not reopened.
