(INDIANAPOLIS) - A state trooper was among the 60 people cited in a gambling raid on the northeast side Tuesday night.
Police say 30-year old Kyle Freeman was cited for unlawful gambling. Freeman has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
Freeman was among those in the Indianapolis Pinnacle Club when police concluded a year-long investigation with a raid. Trooper Freeman started his career with Indiana State Police in 1999. In January, he graduated with his K-9 dog, which was named Dudley after Lieutenant Gary Dudley--one of the men killed last august while on a charity bike ride for fallen officers.
Freeman was also inducted into Greater Indianapolis Red Cross hall of fame back in 2004. That is an award the recognizes people who risk their lives for others.
