Second Gambling Establishment Busted

Last updated on Friday, March 16, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS) - For the second time in 3 days, Indianapolis Metro Police have busted what they say was an illegal gambling establishment.

Police say they'd been watching an Indianapolis-area Mike's Car Wash for "a long time."

Four people were taken into custody and 17 more were given citations. Metro Police Sergeant Matthew Mount says police found poker tables, dice, thousands of dollars in cash, and several guns inside the car wash.

Mount says Mike Smith Senior, Mike Smith Junior, Marvin Colbert, and Deangelo Dupree are facing charges for allegedly running the gaming operation.

Mount notes that this is not the first time this location has been raided for illegal gambling. Tuesday night, IMPD raided a similar establishment, netting several arrests and handing out dozens of citations, including one to an Indiana state trooper.
