Husband And Wife Rescued By Good Samaritans

Last updated on Wednesday, March 14, 2007

(ANDERSON) - Four people are being credited for helping save a husband and wife after their vehicle crashed into a retention pond along Interstate 69 in Madison County on Tuesday.

Police say the good samaritans all assisted in saving Steve and Arlyn Coppess.

Steve Coppess reportedly began choking and became unconscious. The truck veered off the road and went into the pond. The couple couldn't swim, and Arlyn Coppess is seven months pregnant.

The men pulled the two to safety, just as the truck completely sank under the surface.
