Last updated on Wednesday, January 24, 2007

(ELKHART) - The man accused of abducting a mother and four Elkhart children and their mother has been arrested.

An Amber Alert was issued over the weekend and the family was found safe in Elkhart.

Police say 30-year-old Jerry White broke into Kimberly Walker's home early Saturday morning, shot and wounded her sister's boyfriend and took off with Walker and the children identified as Jaylan, Justine, Kyara and Kayla Walker.

All were found at the Sleepy Hollow Motel in Elkhart. The boyfriend, 30-year-old Lathie Turnage, was in an Elkhart Hospital in critical condition.

FBI Special Agent Wendy Osborne says White could face charges of attempted murder, criminal confinement and kidnapping.
