Kids Learn About Accident Prevention

Last updated on Monday, May 1, 2006

(UNDATED) - With the warmer weather, many kids will be outside on bicycles.

Nurses from Clarian hospitals are now in classrooms around the area teaching kids accident prevention.

Part of the course uses a jell-o mold to demonstrate how fragile the brain is. It shows the need for bicycle safety helmets.

Candy is also used to make spinal cords to so how fragile they are. Program coordinator Dawn Daniels says risks are high with the busy city streets and the large number of children who use them.
