Last updated on Monday, May 22, 2006

(UNDATED) - Figures released by the Indiana Department of Education show about half of Indiana schools and 26% of Indiana school districts failed to meet federal educational standards set by the 2001 No Child Left Behind act.

To meet 2005 standards, school had to report 65% of students passing the English section of the I-step test and 64% passing the math section. Standards for 2004 were 59% and 57%.

Results show special education students and low-income students had the most trouble meeting the standards.
