Last updated on Thursday, May 25, 2006

(UNDATED) - The popular homework hotline will continue to help thousands of Indiana middle and high school students.

The Lilly endowment has awarded a 1.8 million dollar, 2-year grant to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's free homework hotline.

The grant comes after another record-breaking year for the homework hotline. More than 41,000 calls were received during the 2005-06 school year, a 19% increase over the previous year.

Homework hotline tutors are available to answer calls from 7:00PM. to 10:00PM on Sunday through Thursday during the school year. The hotline was launched in 1991 in the Vigo county school corporation and now expands statewide.
