CRANE—One area which may be strangely affected by the Department of Transportation’s new time zone structure is the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center.
Representatives say almost two-thirds of Crane's 5,000 workers live in neighboring counties which will not share the same time zone as Martin Co., where most of the base resides.
Also, complicating things is that parts of the base are aslo in Greene and Lawrence Counties, which means different parts of the base could conceivably operate on different times.
