Two shot in Indianapolis

Last updated on Tuesday, December 27, 2005

INDIANAPOLIS—The emergency rooms of Dunn Hospital and BRMC handle their share of critical patients. The ER’s in major cities deal with trauma as an everyday routine.

Yesterday, two men walked into the emergency room at Wishard, in Indianapolis: both had been shot. One died of his wounds, the second is hospitalized. Indianapolis homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances.

The Gary police are looking for leads in the murder of a U.S. steel manager. When the family of 44-year-oild Ricky Chapman wondered why he hadn't shown up for their Christmas gathering, they called the police. Chapman had been shot multiple times in his home christmas Day.

While Lawrence County and South Central Indiana have a serious number of methamphetamine labs and drug addicts, Gary and South Bend have murderous gangs that are out of control.
