(NEW ORLEANS, LA) - The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame were knocked out on day one of the NCAA Tournament, falling to Old Dominion 51-50 in New Orleans.

Frank Hassell led the Monarchs with 15 points with Keyon Carter adding eleven as ODU moves on to face Baylor in the second round on Saturday.

Ben Hansbrough led Notre Dame with 17 points with Carleton Scott adding 14 points and ten rebounds as the Irish finish the season at 23-12.

It was a particularly disappointing day for Luke Harangody, who closed out his Notre Dame career by scoring just four points on 2-for-9 shooting.

Harangody was held scoreless until there was 12.6 seconds left in the game and added a put back at the horn as the Irish fell one point short.
