Colts Enjoy Second Straight Day Off, Still No Word On Injuries
(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts take their normal day off today before returning to practice on Wednesday to get ready for their Sunday afternoon game in Baltimore against the Ravens.
The Colts players also took Monday off, their reward for an improbable 35-34 comeback win over the New England Patriots on Sunday night football.
While much of the national focus was on Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick and his decision to go for it on fourth and two from his own 28 yard line against Indianapolis, Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell is looking to build on the win, particularly with his younger players.
Caldwell says the win provides tangible evidence to the younger players that the Colts are never out of a game provided they don't give up.
There was no update from the Colts Monday on injuries suffered by running backs Joseph Addai and Chad Simpson, wide receiver Pierre Garcon and safety Melvin Bullitt in Sunday night's win over New England.
All four players returned to the game after suffering their injuries with Addai scoring the touchdown to bring Indianapolis to within six points with two and-a-half minutes remaining and Bullitt making the key stop on the Patriots' attempt to close out the game on fourth and two with 2:09 left.
More will be known about their status for this Sunday's game in Baltimore when the team returns to practice on Wednesday.
The Ravens improved to 5-4 with a 16-0 win over the Cleveland Browns on Monday night.
