Tony George Resigns From Indy Motor Speedway
(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - A little more than a month after denying he was being forced out, Tony George has resigned as Chief Executive Officer of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Speedway released a statement Tuesday afternoon saying George would no longer serve as president and CEO of the Hulman-George companies and as CEO of the Speedway in order to focus on his ownership of vision racing.
He will remain as a member of the board of directors of the Hulman-George companies.
Curtis Brighton will take over as president and CEO of Hulman and company while Jeffrey Belskus becomes president and CEO of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation.
George had held both positions since 1990.
