(KANSAS CITY, MO) - Albert Pujols homered twice, including a grand slam, to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 12-5 win over the Royals and a three-game series sweep in Kansas City.

Pujols finished with six RBI and increased his major league lead in home runs with his 25th and 26th shots of the season.

Khalil Greene homered for the third-straight game, but left after being hit in the knee by a Gil Meche pitch in the fourth.

Adam Wainwright picked up the win for St. Louis, improving to 8-4.

Meche took the loss for Kansas City, falling to 4-6 as the Royals dropped their fifth game in a row.

The win was number 2,500 for Redbirds manager Tony La Russa.
