Wizards Top Pacers With Last Second Shot
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Caron Butler capped a big night by hitting the game-winning basket as time expired to give the Washington Wizards a 119-117 win over the Indiana Pacers.
Butler had given Washington a 117-114 lead when he hit a three-pointer with 21 seconds remaining, but Danny Granger tied the game with a three of his own with 15 seconds left.
Butler finished with 35 points and 13 rebounds with Antawn Jamison adding 34 points as the Wizards snapped a three-game losing streak.
Granger led the pacers with 29 points with TJ Ford adding 23 points as Indiana falls to 19-and-32.
The Pacers entered last night's game shorthanded and saw another key player fall early in last night's loss to the wizards in Washington. Shooting guard Marquis Daniels missed his third game in a row with soreness in his lower back.
Things went from bad to worse when Mike Dunleavy left the game early in the first quarter with soreness in his right knee. Dunleavy played just three and-a-half minutes, missing his only two shots from the field. It is the same knee that forced Dunleavy to miss the Pacers' first 34 games this season.
The Pacers return home to face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night.
