Notre Dame Tight End Faces Possible Jail Time
(SOUTH BEND, IN) - Notre Dame tight end Will Yeatman is facing jail time after being cited for illegal consumption of alcohol two weeks ago.
Yeatman will be sentenced on misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving he had pled guilty to in February.
As part of a plea agreement, the driving while intoxicated charge would have been dismissed had Yeatman been able to stay out of trouble for one year. Instead, the junior out of San Diego faces 180 days in jail. Notre Dame says that Yeatman's status with the team remains unchanged.
Head Coach Charlie Weis has said that Yeatman would remain in limbo until everything is resolved. Yeatman missed last Saturday's win over Purdue after starting the first three games this season for The Fighting Irish.
Notre Dame is off to a 3-and-1 start this season. They host the Stanford Cardinal this Saturday.
