Fever Shocked By Detroit Squad
(AUBURN HILLS, MI) - Kara Braxton scored a career-high 22 points and Plenette Pearson added 20 to lead the Detroit Shock past the Indiana Fever 76-71 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Shock took advantage of a sluggish start by the Fever to build a 22-10 lead at the end of one. The Fever cut the Detroit lead to seven by halftime as Indiana committed 18 turnovers in the first half.
Katie Douglas keyed the Indiana comeback with 26 points as the fever held a 58-56 advantage at the end of three. Deanna Nolan's jumper with 2:01 left put the Shock up for good.
Tan White added 17 points for Indiana as the Fever cleaned up their play in the second half, committing just nine more turnovers over the final 20 minutes. The two teams combined to turn the ball over 48 times during the contest.
Detroit improves to 2-and-1 while Indiana falls to 1-and-1. The Fever are off until Tuesday when they travel to Connecticut to face the Sun.
