Fever Release Two Former Purdue Players
(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Fever announced early Tuesday that the WNBA team had released two former Purdue University players.
Guard Cherelle George and forward Erin Lawless were placed on waivers hours after the Fever's preseason loss to Minnesota Wednesday at Conseco Fieldhouse.
The moves leave Indiana with 16 players on the roster, five of whom have not played in the preseason. Four players are finishing up their overseas commitments and all-star forward Tamika Catchings continues to rehabilitate an achilles tendon injury.
The Fever did get veteran point guard Tully Bevilaqua back from Australia in time for Wednesday's loss to the Lynx.
The Fever conclude the preseason at Seattle on Saturday and open the regular season on May 17th at home against Washington.
